The Adirondack Landowners Association has begun a three-part educational program to reduce the spread of aquatic invasive species.

In collaboration with the state Department of Environmental Conservation, ALA is working with the Department of Motor Vehicles to include an insert about curbing the spread of invasive species in all mailed renewals for boat and trailer registrations.

A number of local DMV offices will have educational brochures on aquatic invasive species.

The ALA also plans to work with north country business owners and government officials to display posters and handouts about invasive species throughout the Adirondacks.
