Kiwanis baseball-softball opens

The Heuvelton AmVets and the Ladies of the Moose recorded opening night wins in ther Kiwanis Girls Softball Program.

Heuvelton AmVets 16 - Hammond 0: Madison McCormick and Kelsey Williams each struck out six batters pitching the shutout without allowing a hit. Cholee Combs went 2-2 with a double and McCormick and Molly Williams each drove in two runs.

Yellena Jacquith, Amber Cunningham and Grace Mills all added one RBI.

Lady Moose 12, Source Capital Group 4: Katie Rogers delivered a double and two singles, Desirae Graveline lined two singles and Paige LaRock, Nevaeh Lockwood, and Abby Raven each stroked a single supporting the pitching effort of Rogers and Graveline.

Brooke Meashaw lined a double while Alexa McKee, Brielle McKee, and Cameron Gammon each singled for Source Capital. McKee and Emma Stemples worked hard pitching.

Note: All home and winning coaches are urged to email sports@ogd.com or call 315-393-1003 ext 3 their scores for all Kiwanis games in Junior Softball, Junior and Senior League Grasshopper between the hours of 8-10 p.m. if possible.
