Philadelphia- Karen M. Klein-Coleman, 53, of 19 Garden Road, Philadelphia, died May 6, at Samaritan Medical Center after a short illness.

She was born October 11, 1959, in Scranton, PA, the daughter of Robert and Mary Mackar Klein. Karen graduated from Pocono Central High School and married Gerard W. Coleman, December 21, 2003 in Pennsylvania and moved to Philadelphia, NY. Mrs. Coleman worked for WPBS-DT as a Master Control Operator, in Watertown. She was also a certified optician in PA.

Karen was active in promoting the history of Philadelphia as the first Secretary of the Philadelphia Historical Society, and also published the newsletter “The Historical Star”.

She is survived by her husband Gerry: her father Robert Klein, PA; and several cousins.

Funeral service will be Thursday, May 9, at 8:00 pm at the Cleveland Funeral Home, Watertown, with Father Stephen Murray, Pastor of Holy Family Church officiating. Burial will be in Pennsylvania. Calling hours will be from 5 – 8 before the service at the funeral home.

Donations maybe made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
