Heuvelton answers Morristown rally to stay unbeaten in NAC West Baseball; Lisbon deny Hermon-DeKalb


MORRISTOWN - Heuvelton answered Morristown’s two-run fourth and erupted for six run fifth to post a 12-3 win at Coach Holleran Field on Tuesday in match of NAC West Division Baseball leaders.

“Heuvelton strung a few hits together and took advantage of a couple of errors in the fifth. They hit,” said MCS Coach Rich Marshall whose team fell to 7-3 and fell three games behind the 10-0 Bulldogs.

Cody Holland closed the door on the Rockets relieving Jack Palmer’s with two outs in the fourth inning. Holland fanned five and allowed one run on three hits.

Tyler Delosh took the loss going five innings allowing eight runs.

Holland plated a pair of runs with two doubles and scored once for Heuvelton while Palmer (3 runs), Chris Power (2 runs), Aaron Cobb (2 runs) all singled twice. Mike Martin plated two runs, scored a run and ripped a triple while Mike Guardino and Lucas Brown each singled.

Bobby Simmons and Devin Dulmage (RBI) each drilled a double and a single and scored for Morristown. Zach Kanaly ripped a double while Karter VanArnam and Ryan Vollmer (RBI) each singled.

Lisbon 16, Hermon-DeKalb 1: Don Duprey surrendered just one hit in five innings and Adam Kelley pitched two scoreless innings combining for 11 strikeouts for the Golden Knights (3-7).

The Golden Knights allowed their only run in the second inning when Brad Weller tripled and scored. Lisbon responded with a four run third and a three run fourth. Weller fanned 15 in a complete game for the Demons (1-11).

Kelley (3-5 3 runs) and Duprey (3-5 2 runs) aided their mound efforts. James Darcy, Alex Arduine, Eric Richards, and Riley Alberto each singled.

E-K 10, Hammond 2: Terry Hall (4 innings, 6 strikeouts) and Tyler Sharpstene (3 innings, 7 strikeouts) combined on a five hitter as the 5-6. 5-4 NAC West Cougars built a 5-0 lead before 3-8 Hammond scored twice in the top of the fourth.

Kaden Dandrow supplied a triple and a single for E-K while Nick Davison lined two doubles. Chris Davison and Tyler Tresidder each singled twice. Collin Martin, Nolan Martin, Chris Sherron, Zech Cunningham, and Fleming all singled for Hammond.

Harrisville 15, C-F 3: Nathan Weaver stroked four singles and pitched a complete game five hitter for the 11-2. 9-2 NAC West Pirates. Chris Sullivan added three hits.

Matt Russell smacked a triple and a single for Clifton-Fine (4-7) and Carl Twyman belted a homerun.
