Oliver L. Goodlander, 91, of Conroe, TX and Dexter, NY passed on May 5, 2013.
A graveside service with military honors will be 11 a.m. Friday May 10th at the Black River Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Bruce Funeral Home, Black River.
He was born on April 8, 1922 in Seymour, Indiana to Amy Bridges and Oliver L. Goodlander. He graduated from Black River High School in 1940. Oliver attended Clarkson University for a year prior to enlisting in the Army Air Corps where he served as a pilot during WWII.
After returning home from the war he graduated as a Mechanical Engineer from Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY. He joined Texaco Oil Co. in 1949 and completed 35 years of service with the company in several locations and various positions before retiring in 1983 from Lockport, Illinois as Assistant Plant Manager.
Mr. Goodlander was predeceased in death by his loving wife of 39 years Betty Fisk Goodlander.
He is survived by his sons Terry and his wife Nancy, Gary, Marc and his wife Joyce; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; special friend, Virginia Washburn and numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
