To The Editor:

Attention all area kids from third grade to seniors in high school: Are you interested in joining the Ogdensburg Youth Garden Club? If so, now is your opportunity to join in on the fun, meet new friends, dig in the dirt, cook with herbs and produce, do crafts, go on a field trip to the Gouverneur Fair and learn the basics of gardening and floral design.

This year the club will have the opportunity to participate in a standard flower show, to be held Aug. 16 and 17.

The first meeting will be held June 3 at 3:30 p.m. at the Eva Caten Educational Center (Kid’s Place), corner of Caroline and Washington streets. Parents of new members are urged attend this meeting with their children. Membership dues are $5 per child. An application can be filled out upon arrival, or to pre-register, call Loni Recker at 323-5824.

The Youth Garden Club meets every Monday from 3:30 to 5 p.m. from June 3 to Aug. 19.

Any questions about the club can be directed to Loni Recker (323-5824), Ann Groome (869-0423) or Nancy Skiff (393-7507).
