DEXTER — The academic leaders for the class of 2013 at General Brown Central School are Lee Bauter, valedictorian, and Rebekah Timerman, salutatorian.

Mr. Bauter, son of Stacy and Kristen Bauter, Dexter, has an academic average of 97.47. He is a member of National Honor Society, Key Club, Student Council, Physics/Calculus Club, International Club and is class president. He plays football and lacrosse, of which he serves as team captain. Mr. Bauter is a member of the Boy Scouts of America, holding the rank of Eagle Scout, has participated in Envirothon and attended the 2011 National Youth Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. He volunteers as a religious education teacher at Immaculate Conception Church, Brownville.

Mr. Bauter has achieved high honor roll for four years, was selected as a WWNY Channel 7 Academic All-Star his senior year and was named a North Country Augsbury Scholar. He received a Presidential Scholarship to Le Moyne College, Syracuse, where he will major in biology.

Miss Timerman, daughter of Jeffrey and Helen Timerman, Dexter, has an academic average of 96.85. She has been a member of National Honor Society for four years, where she serves as treasurer, is a member of Performing Arts Club, Key Club, International Club and Physics Club. Miss Timerman has participated in Envirothon, played on the school’s soccer and volleyball teams and performed in several musical and theatrical productions. She has volunteered in several community service projects the past four years and received the University of Rochester Young Leaders Award.

She plans to major in music education at Syracuse University with a career goal of opening a private music studio.
