N-N track teams sweep host M-W, Salmon River


MADRID - The Norwood-Norfolk varsity boys and girls track teams both earned an NAC tri-meet sweep over host Madrid-Waddington and Salmon River on Monday.


The Flyer boys outscored M-W 124-117 and Salmon River 178.5-51.5 led by Connor Levison with wins in the 110 and 400 hurdles. Preston Mason won the shot put and placed second in the shot put.

Also posting wins for N-N were Devon Grant in the 800 and Jake Wellings in the long jump. Levision and Grant also combined with Adam Saucier and Andrew Hardy to claim the 3,200 relay while the foursome of Travis Hall, Dion Aumell, Hardy and Levison paced the 1,600 relay.

Randall Ball (100, 200, triple jump) and Austin Scott (800, 1,600, 3,200) led M-W with three wins apiece as the Yellowjackets gained a split on the day with a 160.5-56.5 decision over Salmon River.


The Lady Flyers outscored M-W 170-143 and Salmon River 238-34 to come away with the sweep.

Maddie Seguin anchored the N-N scoring with wins in the 100 hurdles and high jump. Also posting solo wins were Brianna Hayes in the 400, Cadence Hunkins in the 400 hurdles, Kaycee Saucier in the 3,000 and Emily Laroe in the triple jump.

Saucier also teamed up with Hannah Gray, Lily Parmeter and Leah Livernois to lead the 3,200 relay. Hunkins, Livernois and Hayes alco teamed up with Rachel Remington to capture the 1,600 relay.

Taylor Lenny led M-W with wins in the 100, the 200 and the long jump. Katie Marcellus won both the shot put and discus while Cassidy Scott paced both the 800 and 1,500 as the Yellowjackets gained a split by outscoring Salmon River 209-36.
