A funeral service for 83-year old Mrs. Erleen C. Sheldon, currently of Morristown and formerly of Parishville, NY, will be held Friday, May 17 at 3:00 PM at the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam with Rev. Leon Sweeney officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Parishville. Mrs. Sheldon passed Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg, NY. Calling hours will be on Thursday, May 16 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.

Survivors include a son, Hilton H. Hotaling, Jr. of Morristown, NY; three daughters, Deborah Perkins and husband John of Philadelphia, NY; Susan Peck and husband Gregory of Pennellville, NY; Tina Hogle and husband Jeff of Parishville, NY; and Lisa Vallance and husband Paul of Lisbon, NY. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and several great- grandchildren; sister Gloria Flemming of Columbus, GA; sister Donna McCray of Upper Mills, New Brunswick, Canada; and brother Arnold Cole of Winterport, ME.

Erleen was born in Bangor, Maine on March 15, 1930 the daughter of Ronald R. and Agnes C. (Neal) Cole. She graduated from Bangor High School.

Erleen was married to Charles E. Sheldon in Parishville, NY on May 10, 1970. Charles and Erleen owned and operated the Potsdam Bakery for a number of years before retiring. Charles passed away January 2, 2006.

Erleen enjoyed crocheting and quilting, crossword puzzles, watching movies, and spending time with her family.

If friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in Erleen’s memory to the Richard E. Winter Cancer Treatment Center in Ogdensburg, NY; Hospice of St. Lawrence County; the Hope House at Fletcher Allen Hospital in Burlington, VT; and the Morristown Volunteer Fire Department.
