FA golfers outshoot Massena

MALONE - The Massena Central golf team dropped a 217-233 NAC Division I decision to Franklin Academy at the Malone Country Club on Monday.

Hunter Francis was the low man for the Raiders with a 42 followed by Brenden Dobbins with a 44, Kendrick Swamp with a 45, Tyler Bradford with a 48 and Tyler Sunday with a 54 while Shane Tarbell carded a non-scoring 59.

Elliot Vanier paced the Huskies with a 41 followed by Davis Sprague with a 42, Evan Hanna with a 43, Dylan Fleury with a 44 and Cole DePuy with a 47 while Alexandra Sprague shot a non-scoring 52.

The Raiders (1-5) are slated to host Gouverneur on Wednesday at the Massena Country Club.

The other NAC Division I meet on Monday saw OFA improved to 6-0 with a 195-237 win at home over Gouverneur.

DIVISION II

In NAC Division II golf matchups on Monday, host Brushton-Moira swept Salmon River and Heuvelton by scores of 3-2.

Devin Delisle, who won the Section 10 individual title last season, paced B-M with a two-over 38 which included a birdie on the par-5 14th hole. Delisle topped Salmon River’s TJ Roundpoint, who finished with a 43. The Panthers’ Hunter Russell was also victorious, shooting a 41 with a birdie on the par-3 13th while teammate Michael Labarr earned a pair of wins with a 47.

The Niles boys, Matt and Nathan, carded a 49 and 55, respectively.
