To The Editor:
Cystic fibrosis, CF, is a life-threatening and often fatalgenetic disease that affects the respiratory and digestive systems of tens of thousands of children and young adults in the United States. Ten million Americans are symptomless carriers of one copy of the defective gene that causes CF.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has consistently been recognized as one of the top voluntary health organizations in the country at efficiently using its money raised to invest in research and medical programs. By investing in the CF Foundation you are helping to fund the landmark research that will, one day, make a tremendous difference in the lives of those with the disease. With your help, we can give the children and adults with CF the quality of life and the future they deserve.
Great Strides is the CF Foundations premier event that raises awareness and funds to treat and cure Cystic Fibrosis. Money raised help support vital Cystic Fibrosis research and care programs.
I am writing to ask for your help and enlist your support of the Ogdensburg Cystic Fibrosis Great Strides Walk to be held at the Dobisky Community Center on Saturday at 11 a.m.
The walk will follow the walking trail, loop back across the new bridge, and return to the Dobisky Center. Please join the walk with family and friends from surrounding communities in support of finding a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.
