The Massena Central varsity softball teams used a strong finish to down OFA 10-6 while Potsdam Central and Salmon River but fell short in their NAC Central Division finales on Monday.

Massena 10, OFA 6: In Massena, the Lady Raiders trailed 3-0 going into the bottom of the fourth where they took the lead with a four-run outburst before following that up with a decisive six-run barrage in the fifth to take a 10-3 lead.

Kaylynn Conto went the distance for the win while Brittany Barr was tagged with the loss and Felicia Barr pitched in relief.

Bailey Dillabough had three hits, including a triple, to spark the Massena offense. Addy Rufa rapped three singles. Mackenzie Young singled twice and Vanessa Kirkey poled a double.

Adrianna Compo doubled in the losing cause.

The Lady Raiders will now get set to take on Franklin Academy on Wednesday, May 29, at 5:30 p.m. in the Section 10 Class A championship game at the SUNY Potsdam diamond.

Gouverneur 7, Salmon River 0: In Fort Covington, Mackenzie Rowe pitched a complete-game four-hit shutout as the Lady Wildcats ran out to a 5-0 lead through the first two innings.

Emily Tremblay went the distance in taking the loss.

Rowe and Alysia Whitton both drilled doubled to highlight the Gouverneur offense.

FA 37, Potsdam 1: In Potsdam, Annie Sharlow fired a five inning one hitter striking out six batters and crushed a grand slam homerun and lined a single for the Huskies who scored nine runs in first and 15 in the fourth.

Katie Lamica connected two a pair of homeruns and a double plating seven runs while Emily Marhall smacked a grandslam homerun and a ripped a single while Legacy and McDonald tripled and Maggie Albu tripled and doubled.

Kelsey Green singled and scored in the fourth inning.

EAST DIVISION

In a pair of NAC East Division finales on Monday, Colton-Pierrepont overpowered St. Regis Falls 23-4 and Brushton-Moira outlasted Chateaugay 4-3.

C-P 23, SRF 4: C-P jumped in front with six runs in the first inning with SRF striking back with a solo run in the bottom of the frame. The two teams played scoreless ball in the second inning with the Colts erupting for 15 runs in the third inning to put a damper on the Saints season.

Sabrina Johnson picked up the win for C-P as SRF Coach Carolyn LaPage used a pair of pitchers, starter Madison Greenwood and reliever Brooklyn Haverstock, in the setback.

The Colts were led at the plate by Eve Whalen, Kendra Gilbert and Kylie McKinley with three hits apiece. Johnson and Morgan Doyle only had one hit each, but both were home runs, as Katherine Miller doubled and tripled.

Johnson limited the lady Saints to four hits, three off the bat of SRF senior Brittany Rondeau. Rondeau singled twice and doubles as Taryn Sheldon added the other SRF hit, a single.

The Lady Colts will look to compete in the Class D playoffs which open on Wednesday.
