OFAs Lacrosse season came to an end on Monday as the girls and boys teams both dropped Section 10 Class C quarter-final games.
At Saranac Lake, the Lady Devils dropped a 10-9 thriller to the Red Storm while the OFA Boys fell at Canton 12-2.
Saranac Lake 10 - OFA 9: Kali Sappone scored her fourth goal of the game with 14 seconds to play as the Red Storm completed a comeback from a 7-4 halftime deficit.
We had an outstanding first half but they outscored us 6-2 in the second half. You just cant led a team get on a run like that, said OFA Coach Lauren Morley.
They double teamed all of the time. We handled it well in the first half but we committed two many mistakes in the second half.
Kylie Woodrow scored three goals for the Red Storm which received 12 saves from Sheila Decker. Erica Chase handled 12 shots in the OFA goal and was credited for making several outstanding stops by Coach Morley.
Nikki Holmes tallied three goals and Mackenzie Bresett tallied two goals and two assists to lead the OFA offense. Kaitlin Sheppard followed with two goals and one assist, Danielle Guimond and Hunter Shaver netted solo goals and Mackenzie Comeau and Sky Hoover each added assists.
Canton 12 - OFA 2:Peyton VanBibber generated three goals and Garrett Glasglow connected for two goals and two assists for Canton which led 4-0 after one quarter and 6-1 at halftime. Jake Facey scored two goals
Ryan Huiatt, Jack Elberty, Josh Pierson, Issac Thrasher and Cody Moore all scored once.
Andrew Roddy both OFA goals and Spencer Lawrence made 15 saves in goal. Nate Gibson had three saves for Canton and Andrew McCormick also played net.
The OFA Modified Boys Lacrosse team lost to Potsdam 11-6 on Monday after falling 8-7 to Canton on Saturday.
Against Potsdam, Mark Morrow scored two goals while Sean Montalvo connected for a goal and one assist and Nate Molinari, Max Ahrens and Dallas Ashley each scored once. Aiden Putman logged an assist with Easton Garvey making several good saves,
In the game against Canton, the Blue Devils second half rally fell short as Dallas Ashley scored two goals and one assist, Mark Morrow connected for a goal and one an assist and Nate Molinari, Brody Sheppard, Jacob Adner, and Sean Montalvo each scored once. Austin McRoberts had an assist and Easton Garvey made several stops in goal.
