Waterville-Canton-Katherine M. Trudell, 86, of Buell Avenue, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 9, 2013, at her son, George’s home.

She was born in Massena, the daughter of the late Earl and Florence Small Clement. Katherine was married to Donald Trudell and later she was married to Joseph Wessling. Katherine later in life reunited in marriage to Donald. Both husbands predeceased her. She was devoted homemaker who enjoyed playing cards, sewing, knitting, and especially making mittens for her grandchildren. Katherine’s outdoor hobbies included gardening, camping and fishing. She had been a long time resident of Lisbon, moving to Waterville in 2012 with her son George and daughter-in-law, Cindy.

She is survived by her children; Henry (Lynne) Trudell of Lisbon, George (Cindy) Wessling of Waterville, Mary (Allen) Whittaker of Clinton, Linda (Terry) Bellinger of Lisbon, Vernon (Ruthy) Trudell of Lisbon, Florence (Michael) Wright of Colton, Debra (Patrick) Wright of Colton, Danny (Dianna) Trudell of Ft. Mitchell, AL, Karen Rooky of Madrid and Tina (Dave) Gravelle of Laceyville, PA; her brothers, Richard, Paul and Roger and two sisters, Gloria and Carol and her special dear friends, Lorraine and Gertrude; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Katherine was predeceased by her daughter Bonnie Wells and her grandson, Jeffery Wessling. Also predeceasing Katherine were three sisters, Ethel, Harriett, Beverly and her two brothers, Robert and John.

Katherine’s family would like to extend special thanks to the Waterville EMT’S and the home health aides who assisted in caring for Katherine.

At Katherine’s request, funeral services will be held for her family at the Morley Cemetery in Morley, New York, with the Rev. Kevin O’Brien officiating. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Paul Funeral Home of Madison.
