LOWVILLE — Rena C. Andersen, 91, of Brookside Circle, Lowville, died Wednesday morning, May 22, 2013 at Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility.

The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 27, 2013 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville, with Rev. Herb Swanson, Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, Lowville, officiating. Burial will be in Martinsburg Cemetery. A calling hour will be from 9-10 a.m. prior to the funeral, at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, 203 N. Hamilton Street, Watertown, NY 13601, or Friends of Lewis County Hospice, P.O. Box 266, Lowville, NY 13367, or to a charity of ones choice.

Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Debora of West Covina, CA, Brian and Debbie of LaCrescenta, CA, Paul and Jennifer of Glendora, CA; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her husband, John R. Andersen.

Mrs. Andersen was born on July 23, 1921 in Montague, NY, a daughter of the late Clarence and Ada Joy Carter and graduated from Lowville Academy in 1939. On September 30, 1944, she married John R. Andersen at Hendricks Field Air Force Base, Sebring, FL. Rena and her family lived in Los Angeles, CA until 1972, when they moved to Lowville. Rena served as Village Clerk of Lowville from 1974-1986. Rena and John moved to Brookside Senior Living Community in 2004. Mr. Andersen died on August 15, 2010.

Mrs. Andersen was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church, Lowville, and enjoyed reading, quilting, and sewing. In her younger years, she was active playing the guitar, and enjoyed skiing.
