BEAVER FALLS The academic leaders of the class of 2013 at Beaver River Central School are Lillia Woolschlager, valedictorian, Abigail Cornell, salutatorian, and Cheyenne Lee, vocational academic leader.
Miss Woolschlager, daughter of Kathleen and Peter Woolschlager, has an academic average of 95.96.
She is president of the National Honor Society, vice president of Youth Advisory Council, secretary for Student Council and class secretary.
She is active in the schools music department, and has participated in Conference All State Piano Showcase, Area All-State Band, Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, Choraleers, chorus, Conference All-State Mixed Chorus, New York State School Music Association solo festival and color guard.
She is involved in the 4-H Horse Program, Lowville Village Band, National Society of High School Scholars, New York State Summer School of the Arts and St. Stephens Church and music ministry.
Miss Woolschalger will attend Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam to pursue a music career.
Miss Cornell, daughter of Dawn and Paul Cornell, has an academic average of 95.86.
She is a member of the schools music department, Choraleers, chorus, Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, school musical and marching band and has participated in the New York State School Music Association solo festival.
She is captain of the tennis team, where she was named the individual Section III champion, a Scholar Athlete and received a Frontier League All-Star Award. She was also captain of the basketball team, where she earned Frontier League All-Star and Scholar Athlete Awards, and a member of the softball team, earning a Scholar Athlete Award. She also is a member of National Honor Society and president of the Youth Advisory Council.
She plans to attend Roberts Weslyan College, Rochester, in the nursing program.
Miss Lee is the daughter of Hollee and Eric Lee.
She is a member of National Honor Society and Art Club and is a SkillsUSA state officer. She received the Howard G. Sackett Technical Center Student of the Quarter award and was invited to the Academic Honors Program at SUNY Cobleskill.
Miss Lee plans to attend SUNY Cobleskill and pursue a career in animal science.
