Fire investigators are looking at what caused a small fire that damaged a house at 845 Superior St. on Saturday night.
No one was injured in the fire that was called in shortly before 8 p.m. It appeared on Saturday night that it began in a second-floor bedroom at the back of the house, where it was contained. It took less then 10 minutes to put out, Watertown Fire Chief Dale C. Herman.
Three people were at home and got out safely, he said.
It was a quick hit, said Chief Herman said. It could have been much worse if people werent home and didnt report it.
Investigators were going to comb through fire debris to find a cause and origin, he said.
Fire damage was so minor, except to the bedroom, the occupants hoped to stay the night. They were waiting to get the okay from the citys Code Enforcement Office to see if it was safe, Chief Herman said. There was also water damage in the third-floor attic.
