Funeral services for Marjorie Jacques, age 92, of Proctor Ave., Ogdensburg will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Frary Funeral Home, with the Rev. Joseph Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Ogdensburgh Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Mrs. Jacques passed away at her home unexpectedly on Saturday, May 25.
Mrs. Jacques is survived by one son, Phillip and his wife, Paula; four grandchildren, Bethanie Jacques of Portland, Maine, Phillip Jacques and his wife, Cindy, of San Diego, CA, Rebecca Yerdon and her husband, Kevin, of Albany, NY, and Paul Jacques and his wife, Laci, of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; three great grandchildren and several close cousins in England.
Mrs. Jacques was born on November 30, 1920 in Stoke-On-Trent, England, the daughter of Harry and Louisa Bailey Johnson. She attended schools in England. She married Maurice Jacques in 1944 at St. Saviours Church in Stoke-On-Trent. Maurice passed away in September 1971. Mrs. Jacques worked in the pottery industry in Midland England and was a WWII bombing survivor. When she came to the U.S. with her husband she first worked for Hepburn Hospital in housekeeping. Later she worked as a Nurses Aid in the skilled nursing unit where she worked until 1977. Mrs. Jacques enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading magazines. She loved walking and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
