Adams — The funeral for Kenneth M. Burley, Jr. will be 6 pm Tuesday, May 28th at the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville, with Rev. Loren Widrick officiating. Calling hours will precede the funeral on Tuesday from 3 pm - 6 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the South Jefferson Rescue Squad or to the Belleville Fire Department First Responders.

Mr. Burley, 81, E. Church St., Adams, passed away Friday, May 24th at University Hospital in Syracuse.

He was born in Henderson, June 4, 1931, a son to Kenneth M. and Addie Dack Burley, Sr.. Ken was educated at Henderson Central School and served with the National Guard. Ken married Arlene McGrath May 15, 1949.

Mr. and Mrs. Burley operated a dairy farm on the Fuller Road in Adams Center during the 1960’s. They moved to Woodville where they resided for 35 years. Ken was a self-employed carpenter for many years, building furniture, cabinets and clocks. He also worked for the Holstein World Publication in Sandy Creek and Blount Lumber in Lacona.

Ken was a member of the American Legion Don Rounds Post, Adams. He enjoyed woodworking and watching western movies.

Ken is survived by his wife, Arlene. Six daughters, Nancy (Danny) Cripp, Dexter; Kathie Van Epps, Newark; Debbie (Doug) Brown, Mannsville; Joan (Brian) Ormsby, Belleville; Paula Burley, Woodville; Becky ( Rod) Eastman, Adams. 18 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Two sisters Beverly (Hank) Maciejko and Susan Powers, all of Henderson. Several nieces and nephews. A daughter Dawn predeceased him in 1974.
