BOONVILLE — Brett Brown’s 13 strikeout performance and an eighth-inning rally weren’t enough for the Watertown Rams as they lost their Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League season opener, 9-8, to the Adirondack Trailblazers on Wednesday night.

The Rams scored five runs in the top of the eighth inning to erase an 8-3 deficit and tie the game, but Dominic Fazio’s bloop single in the bottom half of the inning brought home the go-ahead run, and Adirondack held on for its first victory as members of the PGCBL.

Watertown’s home opener is scheduled for 7 tonight against Elmira at the Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds.
