The Jefferson County Animal Response Team will hold an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. June 19 at the Jefferson County Dog Control office, 21897 County route 190, for anyone interested in learning more about ways to help emergency efforts for livestock and domestic pets in the event of a disaster.
CART members help rescue and care for domestic pets and large animals in disaster situations by providing specialized assistance and coordination among agencies, farms, businesses and individual citizens.
There also will be a CART open house in Lewis County from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lewis County Office of Emergency Management, 5252 Outer Stowe St., Lowville.
