Lisbon school announces National Honor Society inductees


LISBON — Lisbon Central School would like to proudly recognize the induction of new members into the National Junior Honor Society and National Honor Society Chapters.

The induction ceremony was held on April 30and was preceded by a formal dinner for the members and their families.

New members of National Junior Honor Society include: Hailie Addison, Sierra Ashley, Marissa Bigelow, Reiley Burwell, Claire Donaldson, Michaela Fields, Riley Green, Lorraine Hollis, Kane Jordan, Tucker Jordan, and Carson Smith.

The National Honor Society inducted new members as well. These members include: Katie Addison, Alex Amo, Makayla Cruikshank, Mikayla Deruchia, Ashley Livingston, Ryan Mathews, Rileigh Mee, Lindsey Remington, Evan Robinson, Jamie Skiff, and Tristan Vine. It is with high scholastic standing, strong leadership abilities, persevering character, and high demonstrations of community service that each member has earned their rightful place in Honor Society.

The National Junior and National Honor Societies have actively participated in various fundraisers and events during the school year.

Both Honor Societies have been involved in Red Cross blood drives by volunteering time to help work the event. Pursuit in wide scale organizations during the year included Trick or Treat for UNICEF to support children living in poverty, Pennies for Patients to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and the Hop-A-Thon to help fund the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Profits raised totaled over $200 for each foundation.

Within the Lisbon community, Honor Society members contributed to numerous events, one of the biggest being Lights on the River. A display was built to showcase Honor Society and members helped to collect donations during the event. All proceeds were donated to the local food pantry.

Members also offered tutoring services to students in a variety of subjects throughout the school year. Apart from the various services performed, all members have completed twenty plus hours of community service to maintain active standing in Honor Society.
