The fifth annual Zoom at the New York State Zoo at Thompson Park is this weekend.

The event, presented by Car-Freshner Corporation, runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Visitors will be able to scope out sleek limos, motorcycles, ATVs, sports cars, restored classic vehicles and all types of emergency vehicles from both land and sea.

Saturday will feature the zoo’s first car show. Visitors will choose their favorite car from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the winner will take home a $500 cash prize.

On Sunday, throughout the day, there will be wreck demonstrations by Derrigo’s Service Center and members of the Watertown City Fire Department.

Murray Pfaff of Pfaff Designs will be displaying his restored Imperial Speedster throughout the weekend.

Along with the vehicles and animals, there will be face painting, bounce houses, raffles, giveaways and childrens games.

The event also is sponsored by the Davidson Auto Group, Fuccillo Mitsubishi, Waite Toyota, Napa Standard Auto Parts, Community Bank, Teal’s Express, Midas, Freeman Bus and My ABC 50.

The ticket cost for this event is regular zoo admission: $8 for adults, $5 for children ages 4 to 12, free for children 3 and under, and $6 for senior citizens.

The 32-acre facility is the only zoo in the world devoted to exhibiting species that are native to New York State. Among the animals are wolverines, black bears, eagles, mountain lions, Canada lynx and gray wolves.
