Dow Electric nets convincing women’s summer soccer win; FC Freeze prevails

COLTON - Dow Electric steadily pulled away to an 8-0 win over Harrisville in North Country Women’s Summer Soccer action at the Colton-Pierrepont high school field on Thursday.

Steph Cox and Arianna Czech netted two goals apiece to anchor the winning effort. Andrea Aldous, Brooke Enslow, Niki Perkins and Kodi Perkins each broke through for solo goals while Steph Collins turned aside 10 shots backstopping the shutout.

In other Thursday evening matchups, Ton’s edged the Lounge-KMA Construction-Chip’s Place 1-0 and FC Freeze blanked Norwood 2-0.

FC Freeze 2, Norwood 0: Alicia Jones scored in the 39th minute after playing a nice 1-2 combination aided by Sherri Peck. The second goal was scored by Brianna Hayes off a header on a beautiful placed by from Jones into the middle of the box.

Lindsay Dennis (1 save) and Jackie Sovie (2 saves) shared the shutout for FC Freeze. Amanda Roi had 12 saves for Norwood.
