To The Editor:
You do have the correct information. If there was a petition it was solely orchestrated by Mr. McFaddin either through Kiwanis or the Lake Association members. Mr. McFaddin makes it sound like many residents attended a board meeting to discuss the issue of the clean up,
when in fact I recall none. I had attended the meetings myself.
The village of Norwood is the second highest taxed village in St. Lawrence County. Many village residents just received the highest property tax increases that anyone has ever seen. It is easy to say I am keeping taxes down when your revenues are up.
The one thing everyone has to realize with Mr. McFaddin; he is very good at making something sound very good if he agrees with the subject matter or very bad if you do not agree with him.
He has a plan for that property, and I am sure it will include one of his civic organizations. Its too bad he didnt work as hard for the Norwood Volunteer Fire Department. I hear he is taking more and more money from the department budget. The Norwood Fire Department used to be the strongest organization in the village. I think it is time to see this again.
