Little fishers reel in gold


WADDINGTON — Ninety-two children participated in the Waddington Fish and Game Club’s 11th annual children’s fishing derby on Sunday. Seventy of those children weighed in fish, with a total of 116 fish caught.

Overall best fish went to Hailie Brock. In the boys’ category, Aden Thompson won first prize, Thomas Eggleston won second prize and Adam Brown won third prize. In the girls’ category, Autumn Eggleston won first prize, Trista Moore won second prize and Grace Coughlin won third prize.

Cadence Brothers and Evan Ryan tied for smallest fish.

Sponsors included the Tim Arquiett Memorial Fund, Potsdam Elks Club, Stewarts, Seaway Timber, Bills Auto, Mort Backus and Sons, Drew McFadden, Perry’s Big M, Pepsi, Coca Cola, Kunoco, Wilsons Store, Uppstroms Bait and Tackle, Waddington Rescue Squad Auxiliary, Sharlow’s Service Station, Art’s Used Cars, Waddington Hardware, Lisbon General Store, Price Chopper and the town of Waddington.
