Timothy J. Allen, 66, Fort Pierce, Florida, formerly of Watertown, New York, went to be with the Lord on June 7th, 2013 due to complications from of a lung transplant.

He was born July 6, 1947, to Margaret Allen Gleeson and Wilson “Bill” Allen. He graduated from Indian River Central High School, Philadelphia, NY. He earned an accounting degree from J.C.C. and Cornell University Federal Credit Union.

In the 1970’s, he was an accountant at W. Alton Jones Science Cell Center, Lake Placid, NY, and an executive assistant for Matchmaker Home Marketing Services and was a former accountant with Frink Sno-plow, Clayton, NY.

In 1976, he successfully established the NYAB/Tri-County Federal Credit Union now known as Northern Federal Credit Union, Watertown, NY, as well as being general manager.

He was the owner of Allen’s Diner, Factory St., Watertown, NY, from 1983 to 1994. He operated the Watertown Roller Rink with his daughter prior to moving to Ft. Pierce.

In 1994, he moved to Ft. Pierce and worked for Orkin Pest Control and Best Value Pawn Shop, Ft. Pierce, Florida. He later opened Allen’s Diner, US 1, FT. Pierce, Florida, currently operated by his daughter.

He was a past and proud member of American Legion Post 916 SAL and The Original Yanks Drum and Bugle Corp. in Antwerp, NY. He was a member of The Lions Club of Ft. Pierce, Florida.

He is predeceased by his parents. He leaves behind many friends and family including a daughter and son-in-law, Regina and John Barczykowski, Vero Beach, Fl., a son Jamie Allen and granddaughter Jordin and grandson Colin, Watertown, NY, Martin “Dad” Gleeson, Antwerp, NY, and sisters, Cheryl Gleeson, Antwerp, NY, Daryl Persons, Boonville, NY, Eileen Daniels, Sackets Harbor, NY, and a brother Marty Gleeson, Heuvelton, NY, a former spouse Mary Thornton Gleason and husband Morris Gleason, Theresa, NY, and a very special friend, Mary Barczykowski.

A Celebration of Life will be held in New York at a later date.

A pre-planned benefit to defray transplant costs incurred will be held June 29th, 2013, at Allen’s Diner, Ft. Pierce, Florida. Cards may be sent to Regina Allen, 1326 35th Ave., Vero Beach, Florida 32960.
