Cape Vincent, New York — Bernadette “Betty” C. Voorhees, 98, formerly of Cape Vincent and Watertown, passed away Friday, June 14, 2013 at Angel’s Inn in Watertown, NY.

She was born November 14, 1914, in Rochester, NY, the daughter of, George and Grace Page Frieson. She married John R. Voorhees, July 31, 1937, in Rochester, NY. Mr. Voorhees passed away, August 1, 1997.

Betty worked for Bausch and Lomb optical company in Rochester, NY for many years.

Betty was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church, Rosiere, NY.

The family would like to thank the caring and compassionate staff of Angel’s Inn, Watertown, NY.

Betty is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Annette and Joseph Kemmis, and Barbara and Donald “Bud” LaFlame all of Cape Vincent; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A sister Shirley Brennan passed away before her.

Memorial donations may be given in her memory to the Cape Vincent Ambulance Fund.

A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, June 18, at 11:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Church, Rosiere, NY, with burial following in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery. A calling hour will be 10:00-11:00 before the funeral at the Church.
