Bacon Eastern’s win Pinkerton Exceptional Seniors Baseball Game

Bason’s Easterns displayed all three on Tuesday at Clarkson’s Jack Phillips Stadium in a 14-1 decision over Steele-Peterson’s Westerns in the James Pinkerton Exceptional Seniors Baseball contest.

Gouverneur’s Cody Wood fanned eight batters and gave up just one hit in tossing the five-inning victory.

Brandon Short doubled and scored for Steele-Peterson’s Westerns in the fifth inning. Matt Guardino supplied an RBI. Heuvelton’s Mike Guardino, Norwood-Norfolk’s Cody Rust, Heuvelton’s Aaron Cobb, Tupper Lake’s Marcus Richer and Josh Clement, Norwood-Norfolk’s Chris Prashaw, Lisbon’s James Darcy, and Heuvelton’s Chris Power all participated in the setback.

Bason’s Easterns’ had 12 hits and showed a little deeper line-up.

Gouverneur’s Hunter Ayen had an RBI-double in a three-run third for a 4-0 lead for the Eastern’s, who also scored 10 runs in the fifth sparked by OFA’s Pat Cosmo and Konnor Murdock with RBI-doubles.

Comso had three hits including a double Ayen and OFA’s Andrew Cole each had two hits while Gouverneur’s Matt Waugh, OFA’s Zach Sharpe, Harrisville’s Nick Weir, and OFA’s Branden Arsenault each single and drove in a run.

Jake Cummings of Gouverneur and Wood each scored a run.
