To the Editor:
The E.J. Noble Guilds Night on the Town in Paris, which was held Saturday, June 8 at SUNY Potsdams Barrington Student Center, was a huge success. Nearly $15,000 was raised to purchase an infant warmer for the CPH Birthplace OB Unit.
There were many sponsors, too numerous to name individually, who gave us a head start financially in the planning process and helped to offset our costs. We are grateful for their generosity.
Sincere thanks needs to be given to some special people: On the Edge Designs for creating a spectacular Paris like streetscape, the UPS Store for donating printing services, A Fine Line who entertained during the cocktail hour, Frank Spagnolo from Ottawa who donated a beautiful necklace valued at $795 and White Flowers for letting us borrow props and ideas. Thanks to all the individuals and businesses who donated items for the silent and live auction.
Thanks to all the SUNY Potsdam people we worked with, who helped create a Paris like atmosphere and Chef Steve whose skillful talents brought French cuisine and Parisian fare to Potsdam.
Without the help of the community our success would be limited. We are very appreciative of the support we are given throughout the entire year for all of our fundraising efforts. Our goal is to benefit Canton-Potsdam Hospital through a series of fundraising events and community outreach. The Guild has donated close to $500,000 in the last 10 years to Canton-Potsdam Hospital to improve equipment and services.
