To The Editor:

We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Nic Sovie Memorial Fund in any way. This wonderful community has again pulled together and created another great memorial for one of our own. Nic was a wonderful young man who has a wonderful family here, in his immediate family and his community family.

What beautiful words Mayor Bill Nelson had for Nic and his family. All of the behind-the-scenes work that City Clerk Kathy Bouchard put into this project, we can’t thank her enough for all the phone call sand paper work she did for us. Thank you again, Kathy! Thanks to all who bought tickets and contributed monetary amounts, to everyone who helped with the reception at the community center, those who made baked goods and helped us set up.

As always, a great big thank-you to Mike Frary and his employees for all they did. Mike, thanks again for making this possible for the Sovie family — the donation of the monument stone and the arrival of the granite bench in time for the memorial service.

Thank you to the Wounded Warriors Outdoor Adventures organization for all you do for our brave soldiers.

Thank you, Matt, from the city Recreation Department, and all his employees for the cement foundations for the monument and the bench, and for the future planting of the three trees in Groulx Park for all the veterans.

We apologize if we have missed mentioning anyone personally, but you all know who you are, and you are thanked again for making this possible.
