ARLINGTON, TEXAS & MORRISTOWN, NEW YORK—There will be a Graveside Service at Fairview Cemetery in Canton for Betty Jane Golding, 89, widow of Cleo J. Golding, on Monday June 24, 2013 at 11:00. Rev. Edgar LaCombe III, Rector, Christ Episcopal Church of Morristown will be officiating. Condolences may be made online and food and flowers can be ordered at www.islandviewfs.com

Mrs. Golding died Monday June 3, 2013 at the Lady Butterfly Home in Fort Worth, Texas. For the past several years, she had resided with her daughter, Deborah at 5609 Atlantis Terrace in Arlington.

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Deborah J. Post and her husband, John, Arlington, one son and daughter-in-law, Craig and his wife Erma, 84 Winfield St., East Norwalk, CT, three grandchildren; Jennifer Golding, Alta Monte Springs, Florida, Ryan Wright (and wife Julie), Fort Worth, Tx, Sara Golding, Norwalk, Ct, two great-grandchildren; Jude Isabella and Beauregard Alexander Wright, Fort Worth, Tx., and several cousins.

Born in Watertown, New York on October 14, 1923, she was the daughter of Sherman and Beatrice Thompson Paro and graduated from Canton High School around 1940. Later in the mid 1940’s she graduated from Potsdam State Teachers College, now SUNY Potsdam.

On June 27, 1948, she married Cleo Johnson Golding at the Grace Episcopal Church in Canton. Mr. Golding died March 8, 2007.

The couple moved to Norwalk, Ct. and for several years, Mrs. Golding taught school in the Norwalk School System, retiring in 1985.

After their retirement, the couple wintered in Phoenix, Az and summered in the Morristown/Ogdensburg area, where they enjoyed their second generation camp at 20 Dunn’s Point Road, where the facility is now owned by their daughter and son.
