John Romeo Jr.


John Romeo Jr. (formerly of Watertown and Dexter, NY) passed away Tuesday, June 18 at Tidewell Hospice in Sarasota, FL.. He was 78 years old. Born 1/1/35 son of John Sr. and Mary Castro Romeo. Graduated from Watertown High School in 1953 and served 2 years in the US Army. He was employed as manager of ACME Supermarkets, P&C and Big M supermarkets until he became owner/operator of Watertown Frozen Food & Produce in the early 70’s. He was a long time member of the American Legion in Fruitland Park, FL. He retired to Leesburg, FL in 1994. He married Barbara J. Dubeau on Oct. 1, 1960. He was predeceased by his parents, John Sr. and Mary Castro Romeo, 3 brothers, Joseph, Augustine and Vincent (all of Watertown) and 1 sister, Grace Romeo Klingsick (Kingfisher, OK). He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Sarasota, FL), 2 daughters, Camilla (Cammie) Romeo Lyndaker (Lacona, NY) and Teryl (Teri) Romeo (Sarasota, FL) and 2 sons, John E. Romeo (Canton, GA) and Nicholas Romeo (Utica, NY), daughter-in-law Erin Pavalock Romeo (Canton, GA), 8 grandchildren - Alicia, Caden, Abigail, Grant, Jordan and Lexi Romeo and Alex and Carly Lyndaker, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He enjoyed fishing, boating and playing cards with his friends and family. His family always came first - especially his grandchildren and his pets.
