Watertown man charged with selling heroin

A Watertown man was arraigned Thursday in Jefferson County Court on charges that he possessed and sold a product containing heroin.

Joshua M. Medina, 23, of 1737 Burns Ave., faces charges of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Court documents said he allegedly sold the substance May 15 within Jefferson County, but did not specify the location of the sale.

The charges were contained in a grand jury indictment from June 13 handed up Thursday.

In other court activity Thursday:

Thomas W. Rapholtz, 39, of 46 Public Square, Apt. 209, was sentenced to a three-year conditional discharge and ordered to complete the Bridge program after pleading guilty to felony driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.

He will also be fined $1,000, have his driver’s license revoked and be ordered to install an ignition interlock device on any vehicle he owns or operates.

He was charged March 17, 2012, after being involved in a one-vehicle motorcycle accident on County Route 16 in the town of Pamelia.
