GLENS FALLS - Sophomore catcher Hannah Thornhill of Heuvelton, junior pitcher Lindsey Thayer of St. Lawrence Central and senior infielder Kodi Perkins of Parishville-Hopkinton highlighted the Northern Conference selections on the New York State Sportswriters and Coaches Organization for Girls Sports All State Softball Team for 2013.
Thornhill, the NAC West MVP, was named to the First Team for Class D which was headed by Kayla Bancroft of Section 2s Fort Ann at shortstop. In her third varsity season Thornhill, batted .548 with a .947 slugging percentage and 34 RBIs.
Fort Ann was Class D champions under the direction of Tim Gleason, the husband of OFA graduate Tammy (Bova) Gleason.
Thayer, who was named the NAC East MVP, MVP Watertown Daily Times All North Team and the winner of Huffer Gebo Award as the Outstanding Player in Section 10; took home Class C Second Team honors.
Perkins also made the Second Team of the Class D selections and Chateaugay pitcher Courtney Boyea made the Third Team in Class D.
Norwood-Norfolk shortstop Mickey Frego was honored as a fourth team Class C selection to round out the NAC selections.
