Samaritan Medical Center and the Samaritan Foundation will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. today for its new healing gardens and a formal dedication of the connector between the hospital and Samaritan Keep Home in memory of the late Mary S. Macsherry.

The healing gardens is one of the final projects to complete the hospital’s multimillion-dollar expansion and renovation project. According to a hospital news release, the gardens are gifts from Mary and Ted Mascott, Lee and Deborah Hirschey, and Urban and Sally Hirschey.

The two-level Macsherry Connector “was designed to provide a visual connection to the healing gardens so that they can be enjoyed from many different vantage points during all seasons,” according to the release. During the ceremony, remarks will be made by Samaritan officials and Richard R. Macsherry, husband of Mary.
