Murray’s Irish In Golf


WADDINGTON - Surprise Outcomes highlighted week eight play of the Murray’s Old Irish Inn Golf League at the Twin Brooks Golf and Country Cub..

Tom O’Brien had a career night with a long 40 foot putt to save par and he along with his partner Bruce Kavan scored a 7.5 points over John Dinneen and Mike Stoner. In another B Division matchup featuring brothers, Al Martin birdied #12 and #17 shooting a personal best 36 and he and Kevin Barkley took 7.5 points from Jim Martin and Jon Mayette.

On the A side, a match featuring four senior citizens saw Dennis McGaw and partner, Jim Manning recording a 9.5 point night over Fred ”The former short arm of the law” Ruddy and his partner Bernard “Fudgie” Runions.

The final surprise match saw the team of Gordy Fetterly and Herb Duclan get 7.5 points from “Ravishing Ryan” Hayes and The “FUBulous” Craig Bogart. Ryan and Craig have been slumping of late and things don’t get any better next week when they face the “Dougie and Juddie” show.
