To The Editor:
We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank everyone who supported our fourth annual fundraiser and chicken barbecue at The Place on June 2 to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. It was another great success and, to date, over the last four years we have raised more than $35,000 for JDRF.
First, we would like to thank Bill and Maureen McNally, who host and sponsor the barbecue at The Place, as well as our other sponsors: NYSCOPBA, St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union, Algonquin Power, Pepsi-Cola Ogdensburg Bottlers, Jreck Subs and Grays Gun Shop. We would also like to thank the following who donated supplies for the barbecue: The Place, Phoenix On The Bay, The Moose Lodge, Lowes Home Improvement, Paul and Donna Pirie, Save A Lot, Freihofers Bakery, Mike Russell and Kathy Hilborne. Also, a big thank-you to Steve Putman and his culinary arts students at Northwest Tech, who helped prepare the chicken and make the macaroni salad.
Thank you to everyone who made donations to the JDRF, including Riverview Correctional Facility, Lisbon American Legion Auxiliary, Ogdensburg Bowl, Dr. Michael Seidman, Massena Sons of the American Legion, Sullys Tavern, Howland Pump, John Ferguson, Chuck and Debbie Hollis, Jerry and Sue Reed, Rhonda Roethel, Sean Backus, Rena and Milt Goldberg, Chuck and Irene Ladouceur, Jim and Joanne Adams, and the students and faculties at Kennedy, Madill, Sherman, Lincoln, OFA Extra Classroom Activities and Lisbon Central School Interact Club.

Thank you to The Place, Nice n Easy, and The Cutting Edge for selling sneakers and to the St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union for selling sneakers and letting our volunteers sell raffle tickets at their State Street and Commerce Park Drive locations.

Thank you to everyone who bought a chicken dinner, a sneaker, a bracelet, a raffle or auction ticket and especially to Don Seguin who won the 50-50 raffle and donated the entire amount back to JDRF.
