A Carthage woman was arrested Friday on a Department of Social Services warrant alleging food stamp misuse in 2008.

Watertown police charged Sonya M. Childers, 34, of 35651 Jackson II Road, with third-degree grand larceny, offering a false instrument for filing and misuse of food stamps.

She was arraigned before part-time City Judge Catherine J. Palermo and sent to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, with bail set at $500 cash or $1,000 bond.

The police report listed the incident date as Nov. 18, 2008.

Further details were unavailable from police Saturday.
