What the St. Lawrence County Board of Legislators Did.

Appointed Stephen M. Putman to the seat he vacated to enter the state retirement system.

Authorized filling a deputy position in the Sheriff’s Office criminal division.

Accessed Dorothy McNeil Trust Fund for the Youth Bureau.

Established the Workforce Investment Act budget for the county Department of Social Services.

Abolished, created and filled positions in the Department of Social Services.

Authorized the filling of an account clerk position in the Department of Social Services.

Authorized the chairman to sign a contract for a vendor managed inventory system for the Department of Highways.

Modified the 2013 highway budget for the transfer of funds from general fund to the highway funds.

Modified the 2013 highway budget to account for the 2013 transfer of funds from county road to road machinery.

Modified the 2013 budget for the 2013 allocation of New York Power Authority funds.

Modified the 2013 budget snowmobile grant for the Forestry Department.

Authorized the chairman to sign the 2013-2014 local sponsor signature form as part of the grant application to the state Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation.

Approved the workers’ compensation self-insurance apportionment for 2014.

Authorized the administrator of the self-insurance plan to sign an additional six-month contract with the third party administrator.

Authorized the chairman to file a certificate designating the Secretary of State as the county’s agent for service of notices of claim.

Authorized a contract for a comprehensive energy audit for county facilities and the creation of a capital project fund the county energy performance contract project.

Authorized filling the deputy commissioner position in the Board of Elections.

Adopted a local law creating and establishing the office of the public defender.

Appointed Stephen D. Button as public defender at a salary of $87,040.

Authorized a corrective action plan to the state Comptroller’s Office in response to the audit of the county’s financial condition from Jan. 1, 2011 through Dec. 31, 2012.

Authorized a letter of support for the grant application by the Northeastern Loggers’ Association.
