Defense carries U14 FC Freeze to second place tie in NNYYSL


The FC Freeze U-14 team posted its fifth consecutive shutout besting Indian River Soccer Club 10-0 putting them into a two-way tie for first place in the Northern New York Youth Soccer League.

Noah Moore, Jake Kiah and Dan Caamano led the way offensively each tallying two goals and picking up one assist. Ethan Knight, Garret Hayes, Romano Sergi and Ashton Snell also scored for the Freeze. Assists were made by Bendros Janoyan (2), Snell and Dominic Molinari. Will Kroeger and Jake Kiah combined in goal for the shutout collecting five saves. Seth Tharrett, Koby Jordan and Tucker Jordan anchored the defense.

On July 1, FC Freeze won 8-0 over the Thousand Island Soccer Club at LaFargeville High School. Noah Moore had a goal and two assists, both leading to Ashton Snell goals, in the first 10 minutes of the contest. Garret Hayes and Bendros Janoyan also scored first half goals, with Ethan Knight and Evan Menard picking up assists. Scoring unassisted second half goals were Tucker Jordan, Ethan Knight and Dan Caamano. Caamano, Evan Menard and Seth Tharrett combined for six saves in goal for the teams fourth consecutive shutout.

In a June 28 game, the FC Freeze U-14 team blanked the NOSC Strikers 4-0 at South Jefferson High School. Dan Caamano scored the first half’s only goal on a direct kick from 30 yards out. Second half scoring involved Noah Moore scoring from Ashton Snell, Snell scoring from Moore and then Caamamo adding his second goal of the game off another direct kick.

The FC Freeze defense was anchored by Reilly Alberto, Dan Caamano, Tucker Jordan and Koby Jordan. Will Kroeger went the distance in goal collecting four saves for the victory.
