CANTON - The 11th annual St. Lawrence International Junior Carp tournament hosted by the St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce takes place Aug. 15 – 17, along a 30-mile stretch of the St. Lawrence River from Ogdensburg to Massena.
The nations largest junior carp fishing contest is for boys and girls ages 11 to 18. Entry fees remain the same as last year: $100 if registration is received by Monday, July 15 or $125 after that date. Contestants can register to fish individually, with a friend or as part of a four-person team.
Registration covers participation in all tournament-related events during the three days, including a pre-tournament fishing school sponsored by Mort Backus & Sons. All carp caught during the tournament are returned live to the St. Lawrence River.
