Ross O. Bolton, 81, Rt 193, Ellisburg, passed away Friday, July 12th at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County.

The funeral will be 11 am Tuesday, July 16th at the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville, with Rev. Mary Drake, pastor of the Mannsville and Lorraine United Methodist Churches, officiating. Burial will follow in the Ellisburg Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, July 15th, from 4 pm – 7 pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County or to the Ellisburg Volunteer Fire Department.

Ross was born in Mannsville, July 17th, 1931, a son to Gordon J. and Flora Hicks Bolton. He graduated from Mannsville Manor School in 1950 and served with the US Air Force from 1950 to 1951. He married Kay Saunders July 26, 1952.

Ross was a millwright at the Queens Farms Milk Plant in Pierrepont Manor for 37 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 687, and coached Little League Baseball for many years. Ross enjoyed bowling and golfing, once scoring a hole-in-one at the Mannsville Golf Course. He enjoyed traveling to the Turning Stone Casino. Ross and Kay spent 15 winters in Zephyrhills, FL and summers at their cottage in Rays Bay, Henderson, for over 50 years.

He is survived by his wife, Kay, Ellisburg. His children, Brenda (David) Radley, Adams Center; Dale (Melanie) Bolton, Henderson; Gary Bolton and his companion Cheryl Babcock, Adams Center; Connie Bolton, Jordan, NY. 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. A brother, Wilson (Bud) Bolton, Florida. Many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Clark J. and Wayne E.; and four sisters Hilda Garbutt, Wilda Taylor, Nona Otis and Veva Bolton.
