COLTON — The town’s 2013 summer series of Colton Riverside Gazebo Performances began on a beautiful night in June with more than 250 people attending the first performance.

The second Gazebo Performance this season features Sin Wagon—performing country music with a little rock and roll mixed in—July 17 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Sin Wagon, named after a favorite song by the Dixie Chicks, has four members: vocalist Keri Lucey, bassist George Cox, drummer Paul Fefee and keyboardist Chris Paige. All members are or have been associated with schools in the area.

The series of performances is being held at the gazebo behind the town museum at 95 Main St.

The rain location is the town’s large covered pavilion on Sugar Bush Lane in South Colton, next to Swift Field. signs will be posted if the performance is moved to the pavilion.

Audience members should bring their own chairs or blankets to sit on the lawn in front of the gazebo (or on the concrete floor in the Pavilion if moved). Volunteers will be on hand to help people needing assistance. Ice cream and other goodies will be provided by the St. Patrick’s – St. Paul’s Altar Rosary Society. Bathroom facilities will be available.

A special drawing for artwork featuring the Gazebo by local artist Judy Filarecki will be held as a fundraising activity and donations will be accepted and appreciated otherwise. Other products supporting town tourism and beautification activities will be available to purchase including the WPBS-produced DVD on The Raquette River Experience.

More information about performances and other summer activities is available on the town website (www.townofcolton.com) and the town’s Facebook page.

Hard copies of the summer schedule also are available at the two information centers and post offices in town as well as the Town Hall, or call Ruth McWilliams for details at 262-2450.
