SLAPS holding meet & greet at Canton Library Monday

CANTON - Local fans of the paranormal have an opportunity on Monday to meet two paranormal investigators from Massena, who for the past six years have been investigating hauntings and other strange event around the north country.

Donny J. Deragon and Nathan D. Lashomb cofounded SLAPS in April 2007 and will be bringing their show to Canton for the second year in a row.

“We’re hoping to make this an annual event,” Mr. Deragon said, noting that last year they even performed an investigation at the library.

“We did a ghost hunt and even found something,” Mr. Lashomb said. “The radio kept getting weird and our instruments were going off for no reason.”

The duo said no investigation is planned for this year, but they will be bringing their equipment with them, as well as examples of things they have found during previous investigations.

“We’re going to do a meet and greet, show off some of the evidence we’ve collected and talk about the procedures we use,” Mr. Deragon said, adding they’ll also have several prizes with them to be awarded including tickets to upcoming events with Rich Tenace and Tiffany Rice.

“We’ll have our equipment there and explain to the public what we do when we do an investigation,” Mr. Lashomb said.

The duo will also talk about their webshow, SLAPS360, which airs periodically.

“We’ll have a discussion and do some activities in a fun, entertaining environment,” Mr. Lashomb said.

SLAPS may be found on Facebook by searching for “St. Lawrence Association of Paranormal Science”

“We held this event last year and 40 people showed up,” Mr. Deragon said, adding he’s hoping for similar success this year. On the web:
