GREIG The operator of a dirt bike was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Utica after he injured himself while riding Friday night off Van Arnam Road in the town of Greig.
Lewis County sheriffs deputies said James Muha, 41, Hoag Road, Lyons Falls, was traveling on an off-road portion of Cats Paw trail when he struck a deep hole in the road that sent his bike into a tree. Mr. Muha was ejected from the bike and suffered an open fracture to his lower leg, deputies said.
He was taken by Brantingham and Glenfield firefighters to the Lewis County Search and Rescue ambulance, which took him to Pine Tree Inn, Brantingham. He then was flown to a trauma center in Utica by Mercy Flight.
His condition was not available from police Sunday afternoon.
