Man flown to Syracuse following dirt bike crash

ADAMS — An Adams man was taken by LifeNet helicopter Sunday to Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, after he crashed his dirt bike near the railroad tracks at Michael Road.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputy Jamie M. Taylor said Storm M. Hickox, 21, was riding his Suzuki dirt bike along the CSX tracks with brothers Kenneth D. Lance, 24, and Dustin A. Lance, 21, around 7:45 p.m. when the accident occurred. Deputy Taylor said that Mr. Hickox had scrapes and bruises to his arms and legs, and that he was flown out because of concerns about internal injuries. His condition was unavailable late Sunday.

The South Jefferson Rescue Squad also responded.

Neighbor Randy Trowbridge said he got into a scuffle with the Lance brothers when he tried to stop them from leaving the scene, where Mr. Hickox had been briefly unconscious.

Mr. Trowbridge accused the bikers of going past his property multiple times and scaring his animals, including his turkey and mule. Deputy Taylor said no charges would be filed.
