FREEZE U12 GIRLS TIE IR

Last Friday, itwas the battle of the league’s first and second place teams as the FC Freeze U12 Girls hoped to avenge their only loss of the season against first place Indian River United Soccer Club (IRUSC)but wound up settling for a 2-2 tie.

Within the first minute of play IRUSC scored on a direct kick over Clara Maine’s (Parishville) outstretched hands. This fired up FC Freeze’s offense into action. Within a few minutes FC Freeze struck back. Delaney Hayes (Canton) blasted a direct kick in the top left corner of the net. Soon after the first goal, Anourine Pullano (Parishville) passed the ball in front of the net and Gabbie Jones (Potsdam) fired another shot into the top left corner of the net. Midway through the first half IRUSC scored again. Leading FC Freeze with shots on goal were Rylee Dennis (Maitland, Ontario) and Delaney Hayes with three each.

Maine was in net the first half and made six saves. In the second half, Brooke Hayes (Parishville) made three saves. Both teams finished with 11 shot on goal.

The FC Freeze U12 Girls will be back in action on Friday at 5:30 p.m. at the SLU campus against LCU.
