To The Editor:
The Potsdam Chamber of Commerce wishes to extend its appreciation and thanks to the many people and businesses that made Potsdam Summer Festival work.
To all our entertainers from the main stage, to Outer Market, to the gazebo in Ives Park we thank you for sharing your talents. We appreciate all the vendors that chose to set up at the festival crafters, food, and non profits.
Finally, we especially wish to thank the public for attending.
Our corporate sponsors allow the music flow, the tents to rise, and the necessaries of the festival to happen. Our sponsors included SeaComm, Canton-Potsdam Hospital, SUNY Potsdam Alumni Association, Clarkson University, Community Bank, The Clarkson Inn, Jreck Subs, Enbridge St. Lawrence Gas, St. Lawrence Radiology, Body Shop Fitness & Salon, Rose & Kiernan, Stewart Shops, Potsdam Food Co-op, Wireless Zone, Todays Hair & Day Spa, On the Edge Designs, St. Lawrence County Reality Check, Dr. Stacey Howlett, Save A Lot, Potsdam Specialty Paper, Kinney Drugs, and National Grid. We thank you for your support.
In addition, we thank Northern Music & Video for their contribution to the festival via the main stage, the portable sound system, and the outdoor movie equipment. We appreciate the donation of the wonderful porta potties from Dans Plumbing & Heating and the much appreciated restroom facility in Ives Park for the craft show. Snell Equipment donated an RTV for use with a trailer donated by Potsdam Agway so our roadie could assist musicians with transporting equipment to/from the stage. North Country Oil Change lent us a flatbed for the parade reviewing stand. Casella Waste Services donated extra trash bins, recycle bins, and dumpsters.
We thank our radio media for being a part of the festival: Mix 96.1 and The Fox 101.5 for live remotes, B99.3 for live remotes and parade emcee, 95.3 The Wolf for the Texas Country Showdown, and Q Country/YES-FM for remote at Outer Market Mania. Thanks for the help in getting the word out. We also thank North Country This Week and St. Lawrence County Newspapers for our tabloid publication.
Our appreciation to all that took part in the parade on Saturday from floats to marchers to bands. Thanks for participating.
Finally, we wish to thank the village of Potsdam, town of Potsdam, village and town Public Work crews, Potsdam Village Police, County Sheriff, Potsdam Volunteer Fire Department, and Potsdam Volunteer Rescue Squad their contributions to the festival and parade.
The dates for the 47th annual Potsdam Summer Festival are July 10-12, 2014 that is only 357 days away.
