MASSENA - While Forevermore Studio Photography has been located in downtown Massena for just over six months, the business is now open, for the first time, full-time.
The studio had initially been open by appointment only. Its to fill the need from the photo studios at Sears in Massena and Walmart in Ogdensburg closing, said owner Nathan Lashomb, who at this point is also Forevermores only photographer. I dont think there is another full-time studio in the area.
Mr. Lashomb said his business will have regular hours of noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, with evening and weekend hours available by appointment.
Mr. Lashomb first opened Forevermore Studio out of the basement in his home just over a year ago. Then, after six months he moved into a downtown storefront, and now, six months after that, Forevermore Studio Photography is open for business full-time.
When they closed it really opened up the market, Mr. Lashomb said, referring to the portrait studios at Walmart and Sears.
And while Mr. Lashomb has only been in business locally for less than two years, he said he wants to let people know that photography is not something thats new to him.
Im not a startup. I did this professionally in Florida for five years, he said. Ive had a camera in my hands for just about my whole life.
Mr. Lashomb graduated from Massena High School in 1996 and moved out of the area for several years, returning to Massena in 2012.
I didnt open up a studio then, because there were already a lot of established photographers in the area, he said, adding at that time, he was doing a lot of film work.
In addition to shooting weddings, family, child and senior portraits, Mr. Lashomb also shoots many parades and community events in the area and also started shooting team photos for area athletic teams.
Mr. Lashomb also said that should business be successful hes hoping to one day hire additional photographers.
Thats why I didnt call it Nate Lashomb Photography. I named the business Forevermore Studio Photography because I wanted it to become a brand. I wanted it to be bigger than just me, he said. I one day hope to hire other photographers who share the same level of creativity and knowledge in the field.
Forevermore Studio may be found on Facebook, where sales and promotions are announced, and several albums containing samples of his work are located.
The studio, which is located at 63 Main Street, across from the town hall, may be reached at 514-0379.
